Boys will remain Boys! Our 18-hour-a-day working Tellywood guys are no different. A bunch of tellyland's sports buffs, who christened their outfit as Boxy Boyz, officially announced their cricket team on Thursday at JW Marriot, Mumbai. Boxy boyz is founded by Dilip Agarwal, Salil Ankola, Shabir Ahluwalia and Vikas Sethi and is managed by Dilip Agarwal's company PEP Pvt.Ltd. The majority of their team consists of television stars and a few models and one cricketer-turned-actor. Boxy Boyz team comprises of Salil Ankola, Shabir Ahluwalia, Vikas Sethi, Manav Gohil, Sharad Kelkar, Varun Badola, Aamir Ali, Indraneel Sengupta, Siddhart Kannan, Amith Behl, Anand Suryavanshi, Anupam Bhattacharya, Abhijeet Sawant, Bakhtyar Irani, Anup Soni, Shakti Anand, Mohit Mallick, Kabir Sadanand, Akshay Anand and many more who have offered their support on regular basis. Even before they could get on the field, the boys partied hard and most of them weren't in perfect condition to face our volleys. However, two sane gentlemen, Dilip Agarwal and Siddhart Kannan obliged us. "Most of us work round the clock thus we hardly get the time to play sports. Salil and I have played cricket together; of course, I just played at the club level. One fine day, we were playing cricket and that's when I realized these boys can't just act but are equally adept at playing. We discussed it amongst ourselves and that's how Boxy Boyz originated" said Dilip Agarwal. When asked if this is just about entertaining themselves, Dilip replies "My boys are taking this very seriously. We've already played competitive matches against Bombay Gymkhana and even beaten them. We'll be playing 30 matches between October to May 2008." Boxy Boyz will go international as well. In fact, they've been invited for the forthcoming Gold Awards to be held in Mauritius in September. It's just not Tellywood stars and models, but even few Bollywood bigwigs evinced their interest in joining the club. "Irrfan Khan and Manoj Joshi were very keen in joining but we've already got many people on board. However, in future, we will try to rope in Bollywood stars" remarked Dilip. Well, that's not all. The gang hopes to organize matches between the pretty Tellywood ladies too. Siddhart Kannan had this to say, "All of us have been working around 20 hours a day. We tend to relax ourselves by partying, which wasn't doing any good to our health. Playing sports is a much healthier option. The best thing about Boxy Boyz is that we get to be boys and by playing we're also contributing towards charity." Finally, we asked Dilip whether they'll be hiring a coach. He enunciated "We did have one while we were practicing at Goregaon Sports Club. In the long run, we may appoint one. However, at the moment we don't need any. Also, at our age, it's difficult to learn." Sadly, one Mr.Greg Chappell can't join Boxy Boyz.
