‘Canada will increasingly look eastward for its future’, going by this statement made by Canada PM, Stephen Harper not only made political visits but also met film star Akshay Kumar on his first trip to India. But the real surprise was his visit to tellyland. Yes, the PM accompanied by his wife Laureen Harper, were the special guests on Sony’s Dance Premier League!

The Desi Pardesi team of DPL has contestants belonging to Canada and so the visiting dignitaries dropped in to catch a glimpse of this reality show thanks to Shiamak Davar.

Shiamak played the perfect host when he walked in with the VIP couple and introduced them to all. Even Randhir Kapoor made an exception to visit the sets in the studio his family owns.

Both the Pm and his wife enjoyed choreographer Howard Rosemeyer’s Desi Pardesi team who danced on Banthan chali. Stephen Harper was bowled over by this performance and remarked, “Had I been a judge on the show I would have given them a sixer”.

Shiamak stated, “Since Dance Premier League’s team Desi Pardesi has contestants from Canada, the Canadian Consulate showed interest in visiting the sets. Both Mr. Stephen Harper and Mrs. Harper loved their performance and were delighted to have come on Dance Premier League.”

This particular episode with the Canadian Prime Minister and his wife will air on 21 November at 8.30 pm on Sony.
