Deepshikha Nagpal’s parties are always fun, especially because they are always planned at the last minute. Her parties are always full of celebrities. Why?

That’s because they are always classy, cool and different.

So, when she decided to throw a New Year’s bash this time around, she just picked up the phone and called. Only the near and dear ones, she claimed. And the response was, quite simply, overwhelming.

People promptly cancelled their other plans and landed up. Actor Ashiesh Roy had to attend the wedding reception of a dear old friend at Worli, which he cancelled without a thought. “She said I am near and dear to her. How can I ignore that?”, he exclaimed.

Actor Krushna, who hardly attends parties, made it a point to pack up early to attend this one.

Joining them were Kashmera Shah, Sambhavna Seth, Mishti Mukerjee, Preeti Mamgain, PRO Parul Chawla, Chitrashi Rawat, Shruti Ulfat, Designer Kanwaljeet Singh, Odie Khan, Paritossh Painter, actress Simi, Creative Sharanya , and a host of other celebrities.

Conversation and wine flowed non-stop, as guests and celebrities kept pouring in, way past the midnight hour. A lovely cheese cake was brought in as everyone counted down to the New Year. Hugs and handshakes followed the loud cheers as the New Year was ushered in with gusto. And talking about New Year resolutions, a unique resolution was taken up by everyone on the night.

“All of us decided to plant a sapling each in our neighbourhood, and be personally responsible for its growth,” announced Deepshikha.

“The city is losing its green cover in the name of development, and we must replace lost trees or else, the city will soon lose valuable rainfall and witness landslides! As celebrities, we must do our bit for society. So, instead of personal goals like “I will give up smoking” or “I will get married this year”, we all decided to make a resolution for communal benefit!”

This unique and wonderful New Year Resolution been made, it was time to let loose on the dance floor. And led by Deepshikha and Chitrashi Rawat, everyone proceeded to do just that. The madness continued till the wee hours of the morning, followed by a sumptuous spread of biryani and pasta, before everyone departed for some well earned shut-eye.

A classy party yet again by the classy couple Deepshikha and Kaishav, and a wonderful start to 2016. We wish them all a very Happy New Year.
