MUMBAI: Komolika is an iconic character on television. She is considered to be one of the most popular and loved vamps on the small screen.

Her character was imtroduced way back in 2000 when Balaji Telefilms launched their new serial Kasuttii Zindagi Kay starring Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan. Urvashi Dholakia essayed the role of Komolika and is still famous for it.

After almost two decades, producer Ekta Kapoor relaunched the serial with a complete new star cast, which included Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan. Hina Khan initially played the role of Komolika, and then, owing to her other commitments, she couldn’t continue. Aamna Sharif stepped into the shoes of Komolika.

The character is iconic and is loved and hated by the audiences.

Before Hina Khan was finalised for the show though, a few actresses were offered the role but refused it.

Anita denied the role owing to unknown reasons, but the makers really wanted her to play Komolika considering her negative role in Naagin 3.

Aalisha Panwar

When Aalisha was offered the role, she was almost signed for it, but then, owing to some prior commitments she couldn’t take up the offer and missed the opportunity of a lifetime.

Adaa Khan

Adaa refused the role of Komolika as she wanted to some other supernatural show.

Krystle D'Souza

Krystle refused the role as she didn’t want to play a negative role on television and wanted to focus on positive roles.

Well, in the end, Hina Khan and Aamna Sharif were loved as Komolika.
