MUMBAI: Telly actor Sumedh Mudgalkar has been highly apprehended by the audience and his fans for his latest portrayal of Lord Krishna in Star Bharat's RadhaKrishn.

Mudgalkar is also a very prominent figure in the local Marathi entertainment industry for the portrayal of multiple roles in various local shows, owing to which he has a strong fanbase in his home ground way before debuting in the Hindi entertainment industry.

1. Sumedh Vasudev Mudgalkar hails from Pune (Maharashtra) who belongs to a Marathi family and has two brothers.

2. He completed his schooling and graduation from Pune itself. Currently, he's an economics graduate who is also studying engineering from MIT (Maharashtra Institute of Technology), Pune.

3. Sumedh is very fond of dancing. He has never undergone formal training and has learnt dance by watching performances on the internet. He aces in 'dubstep' and 'popping and locking' dance forms. He had participated in a Marathi reality show Dance Maharashtra Dance in 2012 and came up as one of the finalists. In 2013, he also participated in Dance India Dance 4 that aired in 2013 and reached to the finals. He was termed as the 'Beat King' by the renowned Bollywood choreographer Shruti Merchant. Also, Sumedh considers himself a dancer first and then, an actor.

4. It's believed that Sumedh grew fond of acting through dancing. Hence, he debuted in the Marathi film industry first and tried his acting skills in movies like Manjha, Ventilator and Bucket List (with Madhuri Dixit Nene). Lately this year, he is even playing the lead role in Marathi movie Mann Yedyagat Zaala.

5. In the year 2014, Sumedh debuted before the small-screen for the first time by portraying the role of 'Raghavendra Pratap' in Channel V's Dil Dosti Dance. A year later, he portrayed the antagonist role of 'Sushim Maurya' in Color TV's historical drama Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and was appraised for the same.

6. In 2018, Sumedh bagged his break-through role of Lord Krishna in Swastik Picture's magnum opus Radhakrishn, which airs on Star Bharat, opposite co-star Mallika Singh. Since this portrayal, Sumedh gained immense popularity and household fame overnight and his body language and expressions are so on-point that even the critics lauded his performance.

7. In the same year, he also featured in a Marathi music video - 'Bekhabar Kashi Tu', co-starring with Sanskruti Balgude.

In 2019, Mudgalkar won 2 consecutive awards - the first one being the Indian Telly Award for 'Best On-screen Couple (Jury)', which he won along with his on-screen co-star Mallika Singh for their show RadhaKrishn; the second one being the Gold Award for 'Best Actor Debut' for his role of Krishna in the same show.

9. Sumedh shares an amazing off-screen bond with his Radhakrishn's on-screen co-star - Mallika Singh. From not knowing much about each other to growing into each other's 'buddies', the real-life friendly chemistry of the duo is well cherished. initially didn’t know one another, however then, they grew to become better of buddies.

10. In the personal front, Sumedh loves to play the guitar and can play it like a pro. Unlike dance, he is taking formal lessons for playing the instrument since his early childhood days. Hence, he has a good grip and control over it.
