The smart and handsome actor Chirag Thakkar, who played the role of Karthik in Balaji Telefilms’ Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, is the next small screen actor to take the plunge to the big screen.
Yes, you heard it right!! Chirag, who was also seen in Sony TV’s Amita Ka Amit, is presently shooting for his debut Bollywood movie which is a typical comedy flick. And the best part is that the actor has managed to bag the lead role in the movie which has noted actress of Dill Mill Gayye fame, Shilpa Anand as the female lead.
The movie which has the tentative title of ‘The Mall’ will also see veteran actors Om Puri, Tiku Talsania, Himani Shivpuri, Vrijesh Hirjee, Manoj Joshi and Rajpal Yadav playing pivotal roles. The story will depict the happenings in a mall. Chirag will play a simple and sweet boy who will be a salesman and keep visiting the mall for work. He will fall in love with Shilpa’s character at the mall. The movie is produced by Sudatta Films, which predominantly makes Marathi movies.
When contacted, Chirag told Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, it is really exciting to work in a movie. It is a completely different experience altogether. And the excitement is doubled up as I play the lead in the movie. Working with Shilpa Anand is fun; she is a sweet person by nature. The biggest honour for me though is to work with Om Puri ji. I take this as a learning process.”
The movie is expected to release sometime in May 2014.
