Talented and beautiful Mugdha Chapekar is quite happy with the way her new show Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai is shaping up on SAB TV.
“Wherever I go, people tell me that they are happy that Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo is back. Personally, I don’t take it as a sequel for even if all the artistes are the same, the story line is completely different. It is a brand new dish we are serving to the audiences. If you remember that in the 1st part, my character was not a part of the lie. But, in this, she is hand and glove with her hero (Swapnil Joshi) right from day one. But if the audience regards it as an extension of Sajan Re, so be it.”
Also Mugdha is full of kudos for the Optimystix creative team. “We all are working very hard. Comedy is a serious business. You just can’t make people laugh at the drop of a hat. I am of the firm view that, to make people cry in a daily soap, is comparatively not a cake walk.”
Taking a look at her career graph, Mugdha says, “I have been very fortunate to play in shows of different genres be it historical(Prithviraj Chauhan), costume drama (Dharam Veer), daily show love story (Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari) and now two comedies (Sajan Re…and …Sab Golmaal Hai). I guess I have covered the entire gamut of emotions. I have done horse riding, typical romantic song and dance routines and even made people laugh.”
Coming to the non-fiction space, Mugdha shares that she would love to take part in a dance reality show. “I had tried to learn dancing, but could not do so. Hence, if some format allows me to learn; I will be more than happy to be a part of it.”
As the essence of Golmaal… is based on a lie, would you accept that it is alright to lie in a relation? “This is just a story, but in my personal life, I don’t believe that any relationship, be it father-daughter, brother-sister or husband-wife, can stand on a lie. If somebody really close to me lies, I would at least give him time to explain his say. I will not take any decision in haste, for I sincerely believe that one must never act in a hurry when very happy or very angry.”
So, is there anybody in life your right now? “I am very much single. I don’t get time from shooting and my studies (Masters in World History). I also like to spend some private moments alone watching movies at home,” concludes Mugdha.
