The pretty Sai Deodhar, who has been a part of shows like Saara Akash and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si in the past, was last seen in Baat Hamari Pakki Hai post which she was on a sabbatical after the birth of her child. In conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Sai talks about her break and her new show Udann on Colors which deals with the grave issue of bonded labour. Sai states, “I had been thinking of getting back to television for a while now and since my kid has turned three, I decided to take up a show. The only reason why I was not taking up a project was because I was being offered typecast roles where I would have to doll up and utter a couple of lines. When I was approached for this show, I liked the script, and immediately said yes to it. I have always been an actor who wants to do something more than being pretty.” Udann focuses on the relationship between a mother and her daughter, and how because of some unfortunate incidents, the mother is forced to take difficult decisions. Elaborating on the challenges she faces while essaying the character, she avers, “The primary challenge I faced was dividing my time between my shoot schedule and my family. But my husband is extremely supportive and encourages me to live my dreams. Secondly, I find it very difficult to detach myself from scenes. I start building an emotional connect with the characters and it affects me to an extent in real life.” Commenting on the bonding she shares with the actors, she says, “I feel blessed to be working with a great set of actors and specially when there are a lot of children in a show, there is a lot of positivity and energy on the sets.” Welcome back Sai!!!
