MUMBAI: Nishant Singh Malkani is one of the most popular television actors. He has been entertaining the viewers with his fine acting chops.
The actor is the latest celebrity to test positive for COVID-19.
Nishant, who participated in Bigg Boss 14, told Bombay Times, “Yes, I have been infected. I was scheduled to travel to Goa for a shoot tomorrow and hence, had to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test, which came positive. I think I wasn’t destined to do the project. I have isolated myself and will be in quarantine for 14 days. The symptoms were mild. I had a sore throat and experienced weakness. I mistook it for a viral fever. Also, I didn’t expect to be infected, as I had been quite careful and was home all through the lockdown. In fact, the shoot turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as I underwent a test just because I was slated to travel for it. I am obviously not a part of the project anymore, but I wish them all the best.”

The actor has tested positive just two days after his Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega co-actor and good friend, Kanika Mann tested negative for COVID-19. Nishant took good care of her during her recovery phase. Is she doing the same? “Fortunately, she has tested negative. I used to send her food, medicines and check on her every day. I was also in touch with her family and updated them about her health. Kanika is my neighbour. I am sure that she will also send me food and she better send me good and healthy food now (laughs!). She will have to look after me because I live alone and currently in isolation. There is no option!”
