A page from the personal diary of Deepika Singh Hello, my dear fans. I want to share some of my fondest memories with you guys. But…where do I start? Let’s see… Well, as a child, I was a very studious girl. I never used to bunk classes and was very solemn and an independent child. Being the eldest daughter, I had lot of responsibilities towards my family. After my schooling, I completed my graduation in Commerce. Later, I did my MBA in Marketing. When people asked me if I wanted to become an actor, I would always reply in the positive for it was my dream to become one. I was handling my dad’s garments manufacturing business. I used to also take tuitions, but then I always wanted to do something different. I had few friends who were into events and advertisements. So they pushed me to get into television. Firstly, I started doing theater. I also did an advertisement for Micro Tech Inverter. By-the-by, I started getting calls for auditions from the agencies where my friends had forwarded my pictures. After lot of patience, one day I finally got a call asking me to come down to Mumbai for an audition for Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s new show. Hailing from Delhi, I knew I had to shift to Mumbai to chase my dream of getting into television. So I came down to the maximum city, and gave my audition. They told me to wait for a response. I was a little scared thinking what would happen if I got a negative reply. On the other hand, I had made up my mind of not going back to Delhi again. Here I was standing on the crossroads of life that would decide my future. To my good luck, I got a call from the production people saying that my name had been shortlisted for the lead role. I was so happy that I called up my parents to share my excitement with them. They were both happy and sad because they were too concerned about me. But gradually things fell in places. I got the role of Sandhya in Diya Aur Baati a popular and brilliant show. I am really glad to be a part of it. The sad part is I don’t get time to enjoy much in life. I don’t even have time to date anyone. But to unwind myself, I listen to music and watch movies. I also love to gym. I feel blessed and lucky by the way my career is shaping up. I think it’s all because of my parents’ and God’s blessing. Till now, my journey has been very fruitful. The one best moment which I will never forget in life is when I won the Best Bahu Award at the Star Parivaar Awards. I would like to thank all my fans for loving me and being so generous. Keep loving me.
