MUMBAI: Television actors have often admitted how difficult their financial situation gets when they are not a part of any show for a long time. Sometimes, the artists are loaded with back-to-back work, but when they are not, it can be difficult to make ends meet. In a recent episode of Smart Jodi, Arjun Bijlani opened up on how he and Neha Swami had to almost abort a child due to financial difficulties.
The promo shows Arjun baring his heart out about the tough phase of his life post marriage. The actor discloses that his wife Neha got pregnant only a year after their marriage. However, his financial situation wasn’t good enough then, which made them decide to abort the child. He further reveals that they had almost reached the hospital to get the abortion done.
Talking about the phase, Arjun said, “It was only after a year of our marriage that Neha got pregnant. I wasn’t working for around 1-1.5 year then and child’s responsibility is huge because of which we thought of not going ahead with it. She got emotional,cried and it was difficult for me too. But I hand only Rs 40,000-50,000 in my account, how could I take the responsibility of a child. So we went to the hospital to abort it.”

The couple are supposedly one of the highest paid on Smart Jodi. Arjun Bijlani and Neha Swami are allegedly getting Rs 7 lakh per episode, almost at par with Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain. The actor's career picked up in 2015 after his stint with Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. After that, he bagged Naagin and has not looked back since that superhit show.
