MUMBAI: Astha Agarwal is currently seen in Star Plus' popular drama series Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.
The actress portrays the role of Shikha Bhosale in the show and her character is loved by the viewers.
While Shikha is an integral part of the Bhosale family, her backstory is quite sad as her husband Chinmay has been away from her for many years.
The ardent viewers are waiting to see Chinmay's return to his family and how things will change.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Astha who spoke about the show's journey and much more.
In one of the past episodes, the viewers saw a scene where Surekha is talking to Chinmay on a video call, the viewers are now wanting to see this kind of a scene with Shikha as well.
Responding to this, Astha said, ''That is like a surprise for me too. I have not been told anything about this track so far. I only know that he is in America. I keep on joking that I will do a Swayamvar and then choose my on-screen husband. I have no idea about Shikha and Chinmay's on-screen tuning. I keep telling Akka Saheb that I miss him. Scene by scene, we are hinting towards him coming back.''
Spilling beans on the screen time and her views on it as an actor, Astha said, ''It's been a long time I have been in the industry now. I used to feel all this in the beginning. When you play a character role like a sister-in-law or a sister, they are in the scene but they don't have too many dialogues. Sometimes it's not required. Initially, I even faced this problem. I felt that there is something not right about my performance which is why my screen time is chopped. But over time, I have realised that it is just not required to speak. Being in a big show and being a part of the first family is an achievement. There are days when there won't be any scenes for me. But someday, it will come and I will get to perform. So now, I don't feel like that anymore. It feels great to perform scenes sometimes which are quite big. I prefer doing characters which involve 15 to 20 days of work in a month.''
Lastly, talking about shooting with Bhavika Sharma aka Savi, Astha said, ''She is such a sweetheart. I told her that the leads are the pillars of the show. So, the vibe they keep on the set is what we get all over. Sometimes, lead actors are too much in themselves, they talk less but they are definitely not rude. I have not experienced that so far. But our lead actors are cute and adorable and are chatterboxes like me. The vibe here is very pleasant.''
She added, ''It feels like we are partying when we do scenes with Bhavika. I look forward to doing scenes with her. That car accident scene was too much fun as I got to do comedy after Kya Haal Mr Panchal? I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a very good compliment from my director for the same. It's like an achievement for me.''
