MUMBAI: Television hottie Jiya Shankar is currently seen hosting Sony SAB's popular show Good Night India.

The actress is hosting this comedy show alongside comedian Amit Tandon.

The viewers are loving Jiya's beautiful presence on the show as a host as she is doing total justice to it.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Jiya who spoke at length about her future projects and much more.

What kinds of roles are you looking forward to in your future projects?

I am really, really looking forward to doing some projects on the web if I get offers. Other than that, I have left everything on time. The universe is bringing in some really amazing and challenging roles for me which I never even thought would happen.

You have done a couple of films in the South as well. How different is it to work in the Hindi and South industry?

South Indian industry is really good if you find the right people. But for me, it was the language barrier. I think I started off too soon. I should have started working here first and then gone to the South. Now if I go there it will be very different for me and even for them. When I started working in the South, it was my first acting job. It was all new for me. The new language was even tougher. I don't think I did my best there. I couldn't even understand if I was doing the right thing.

How did you bag your first-ever project in showbiz? Any interesting story behind it?

I was a very shy kid. When I started, I literally went to auditions and watch people perform. I did not even audition as I didn't have the courage to perform. I have just watched people. One day, I thought I should do it. I was seen in Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Action Replayy. I thought that this was something I am really passionate about.

Jiya is popularly known for her roles in shows like Kaatelal & Sons, Meri Hanikarak Biwi, Queens Hai Hum, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Laal Ishq, Love By Chance, among others.
