EXCLUSIVE! 'One shouldn't let them stereotype you for your skill', Akshay Kelkar aka Suresh from Nima Denzongpa gets CANDID about his character, favourite co-actor and more

I am not a social media person, but Surabhi is and she has taught me how to be active. I feel it has become a focal point as people often connect with you through those mediums and you receive a direct reaction from the audience.

The show has captivated the hearts of the audience with its gripping storyline and is high on drama. We got in touch with the charmer of the show Akshay Kelkar and asked him about agreeing on the character and more

Check out what the dapper had to reply:

What made you agree to this character?

Firstly, bagging a lead role that too on Colors' is a big deal in itself. Nima has taken many leaps in the show, this gave me a chance to portray different shades of Suresh, from a 20-year-old boy to now a 45-year-old father, Suresh has only grown with his character.

Were you sceptical about taking up the character Suresh in the show?

Not at all, instead, I was excited about bagging the role. Honestly, most actors wouldn't want to pick such a character that portrays an older shade of themselves as they often fear getting stereotyped. Be it Hindi or Marathi, I have always been appreciated for my work onscreen and not stereotyped. I think one shouldn't fear that and experiment with their potential. These judgements shouldn't affect your work, while playing a father on tv, I am also playing a character of a young boy in one of my upcoming projects, this surely keeps me away from being typecast for certain characters.

What are your views about being present on social media?

Honestly, I am not a social media person, but Surabhi is and she has taught me how to be active. I feel it has become a focal point as people often connect with you through those mediums and you receive a direct reaction from the audience. I still like to keep it at limited access as I wouldn't want to rely on it.
