Ketki Dave has been a major name in both the Hindi and Gujarati industries, she comes from a theatrical background, one could say she practically grew up on the sets of theatre plays.
Balika Vadhu 2

MUMBAI: Balika Vadhu 2 on Colors is one of the most loved shows on television today. The show is back with a second instalment by popular audience demand and while the first season focused on a Rajasthani backdrop of child marriage, this season focuses on a Gujarati background on the same subject.

Now, Maadi Baa aka Ketki Dave is all set to bring a storm in Anandi's life, we rang her to know everything about her character and more, you would want to note down all the answers she gave.

What can the viewers expect from Maadi Baa?

Maadi Baa is definitely one of our age-old grandmothers, who follows their own rules and old traditions, they have not moved ahead with time. She is rigid, not a disciplinarian but believes in her old values. She has been following the outdated norms of the family.

Did you do any preparations for the character as this would be your second show after Kyun Saas Bahu Ki as a Gujarati oriented show?

We are having a lot of Gujarati backdrop serials on-screen presently, People are enjoying the Gujarati culture that has been portrayed. It has a variety to offer, I have always enjoyed it but Maadi Baa is completely different. It gave me a new character to play and develop.

We are wanting everyone to watch the show so there are hints of certain Gujarati phrases that shall make the audience curious to know and get connected to the backdrop. I haven't prepared for any accent or look for the show. We are showing her a little aged for the screen if you actually see the women out there age soo gracefully you wouldn't be able to recognise their actual age.

What could be the major difference between Hindi and Gujarati Tv and films?

In the Hindi tv industry, there is a lack of time so even when we are working on scenes there is a certain pace to catch up. So we have to do a particular set of scenes to be completed. And coming to Gujarati tv it is more hectic, for example, if I am doing 10 scenes in a Hindi show per day then I'd be doing 20 in a Gujarati show. Everything is a budget drive, the best thing that happens in this process is we become mentally and physically more active. So when I do a film and see the leisure, I just go all wow that I am free quickly. I have the whole day for myself. So yes it's all about performance and its schedules.

Well, Ketki Dave has been a major name in both Hindi and Gujarati Industry, she comes from a theatrical background, one could say she practically grew up on the sets of theatre plays, acting could be called an heirloom trait that has been a gift from her mother Padmashree Sarita Joshi. The legacy has been continued with Ketki's daughter Riddhi Dave.
