MUMBAI: Riya Sharma made her acting debut in 2018 with Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie portraying Chinki Tandon. She is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Mayura Dubey Shukla in Pinjara Khubsurti Ka and Kashibai Ballal in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal.

She is currently playing the role of Dr Tulika in Banni Chow Home Delivery. She is winning a lot of hearts with her performance on the show.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got interesting insights about the show and her character.

What are your thoughts about the current track of the show and what can the audience expect from the upcoming one?

“I feel it is full of typical TV drama which is really working. As an actor, I think about what the audience would think when they are watching our show. I feel it is pretty entertaining and spicy from that perspective as well. Talking about the upcoming track, I honestly expected that this track of Tulika and Kabir, Yuvaan and Banni would go on like this. But I don’t think they will keep the same drama going on because if the same thing keeps on going, the audience will get bored.  I don’t know what will come up but there will be a surprising and unexpected twist for sure.”

What can we expect from your character in the future?

“One thing is sure that nothing negative will be portrayed about my character. As far as I know my character is a human being, a girl just like us who has feelings, who is drawn into the emotions. She is very confused right now if she should be selfless or selfish. I feel in the future it will be shown how Tulika copes up with Banni being the victim but at the same time also being in love with the person.”

What was your first reaction when your character Tulika was narrated to you?

“I was told it wouldn’t be grey or negative. For TV and this shoe specifically, I chose to be positive and that is what I asked them if they can continue doing that. In the plot, if I support Banni and I’ll be completely selfless, I will be positive. But my character then cannot go further than that. There is no story then. The way my character has fallen in love right now is very weird and wrong because the person does not even exists. Then I can see a girl suffering because of me, being a girl and a doctor, then I automatically become a little grey, even though unintentionally.”
