Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is completing a year and I am very happy about the fact that this one year has been a beautiful journey and I want to thank everybody. I am very grateful to the audiences who have not just given us a place un on TRP charts but also their hearts and have welcomes us and made us a part of their lives. We’ve been a huge part of this family and there definitely have been some challenges from the beginning since the show started during the lockdown, as things were settling in the second wave hit and the whole process changed and we had to move our base.

Along with the emotions that all of us were going through away from our families and our base centre it became a bit hectic and tiring. Even so, I think it was a beautiful experience as a whole. Just like nomads or rather artists who have their own stories from one city to another this was a really beautiful journey, From Mumbai to Goa and then to Hyderabad and changing two locations in Goa itself has been a beautiful experience and I think everyone came closer and we got to know each other way more and we turned out to be an actual family and made friends for a lifetime. It’s been a great year and I’m more than happy that we’ve cherished the challenges that came across. We made lemon out of lemonade ! and that is the best part. I cannot just pick one fondest memory out of the many memories, many moments and many beautiful relationships apart from onscreen that were built. Although it is very difficult to pick one from this journey I would say that the first day of the shoot was epic as we started my portion with Sanjay Sir in our scene as “Sai and Abba” where I tie a protection charm around his wrist. The scene was not that good so we really did not do the first day of the shoot. The first day was mainly focused on trying to figure out what it is. The second day came out really well and everyone was taken aback with how emotionally connected we were. We realised rather I realised that okay this is how ‘Sai’ is and gradually of course how her journey contributes to her character. The very first day which was an epic failure is memorable because it taught me that I was scared because it did not go well and everyone has certain expectations from me and I couldn’t live up to them and they were scared because they had picked me, and they were looking forward and were very hopeful. That night when I went back from the set I was constantly thinking how I can do better and I almost wished I could just run back home to mom and dad, but I gathered the courage and thought that everything will be good tomorrow and there will be a beautiful morning and a fresh start. . The point I want to come to is to not lose heart if you’re in a troubled situation. In that moment was a big opportunity right there and I was failing at it and I had to turn it around, and the next day I did managed to turn it around. I think because I kept my cool and calm. I gave it a thought on what was not working out the previous day and it clicked and I worked hard on it and everything was nice and everyone was happy and the scene came out really very good. I was personally very happy so you have to be calm and work at it during a turmoil so that you can figure how to stop the chaos. Bad days pass and there are beautiful mornings after scary nights.

There are so many more memories like the first day I entered the ‘Chavanivas’ and the first time I met Jagtap was really epic and was very funny. The first time I got introduced to him and I lose it on his forehead and we both improvised the scene so much that was hilarious and the whole unit enjoyed, we enjoyed so it was fun plus I made a great friend that day and still is a dear friend of mine and we share a great bond. When I entered the house is my fondest memory and I really cannot pick one but the first day of shoot taught me a lot and was one of the best memories I’ve had.

Tell us about your journey with the show...

This entire year has you know brought all of us really close together as a family and I share a great bond with my on screen family as well as off screen, whether it is technical team and people who actually bring the show together. I have a great bond with Sanjay Narvekar Sir, with Siddharth Bodke with Mitali ma’am, Kishori ma’am, Sonali ma’am, then there is our DOP Sailaish Sir, I’m very close to these guys and they are one of those people who I take my troubles to, and I can rely on them, I take advise when I’m stuck and they are my go to people like our creative director Siddharth Sir then there is Eeshan Singh who is a very close friend of mine. So I really cannot pick amongst these, they are really very close to me and I just go to them for my troubles.

What do you like most about your character?

I think Sai for a young girl has seen so much, from her father's death to coming to a family where she is not accepted and is getting married to a guy who has already promised himself to someone else. She’s trying to find her place in the family and in the hearts of people and she tries to do her best for everybody, also, keeping her self-respect, her father’s wishes and what’s good for her. So she tries to find a balance in both things which is commendable. Whether she’s successful in doing or she fails at what she wants to do, she never gives up the spirit that she has which is commendable to never give up. She goes through all the turmoil so many emotional ups and downs in the journey that she has seen, she does not give up and I think that has personally taught me a lot that you can’t stop being nice just because people around are not nice, and sometimes you want to at times, so she turns out to be rude at times, but then, she does not stop doing the right thing even if its for people who don’t like her, she does it.

She is very vocal about it, I think she takes a stand for people and for herself too not just only for others, and she gives to and extend where she selflessly thinks about others but when required stands for herself too. So she has self-respect, she’s been through so much but she’s still standing strong and she’s caring, giving, fierce and she’s growing as a person. She is falling for a guy who is a little mellow and he’s rubbing off on her so she sometimes mellows herself and tries to understand what Virat says and is trying to make her understand or Aai is trying to make her understand or Pulkit Ji is trying to make her understand, because these are the people who balance her crazy side, so I think a little bit of mellow comes and goes. She’s growing as a person also for a young, its been a beautiful journey. (Also Read: Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Mein: Major Twist! Aniket to separate Virat and Sai)
