MUMBAI:   Shiny Doshi made her acting debut in 2013 with Saraswatichandra portraying Kusum Desai. She is best known for her portrayal of Sarojini Singh in Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal, Mahi Sengupta in Jamai Raja and Radha in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran.

She is currently playing Dhaara in Star Plus’ Pandya Store and is being loved for her performance.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know interesting insights.

 The show is now airing seven days a week. How do feel about the workload?

“There is a lot of pressure, to be honest. The show is now on all days of the week so it is very important for us to keep a bank of episodes. Honestly, we don’t have much in the bank. The plot we shot a few days back is already on AIR. Our EP is extremely kind enough to give us holidays and I think he is very sensible in managing the scenes and footage. The workload has definitely increased. I was taking leaves every month but now all those have been canceled. I was supposed to travel in October and November but they canned it. I went and requested for December so they agreed to that.”

You debuted with Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra and gained a lot of recognition on the show. What was it like working with Jennifer Winget and Gautam Rode? How was the whole experience?

“It was a great experience to work with Jennifer and Gautam. It was my first show and I did not know anything about acting. These actors were brilliant and I used to love watching them do their scenes. No matter how much you learn beforehand, when you enter the industry that is your true experience. These are the things that teach you so much in life. Saraswatichandra was like a learning school for me. I have cried, howled, done so many mistakes, gathered myself again, made myself strong, and even decided to quit and get back. I have learned so much on that show. There were such amazing talents on the show like Ragini Shah, Alpana Buch, Yatin Karyekar that I used to feel that I am the only one who doesn’t know anything. I used to feel pathetic about myself. I used to feel that I don’t know anything and that I have come into the wrong field.”

You were a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi. How was the experience on reality TV and would you wish to go back to it?

“That was my first reality TV show and after that, I never felt like doing it again. I got offers to do other reality shows as well. I never say never. In the past I did not feel like doing reality TV again but who knows what might happen in the future. I did not even get time after that to do a reality show as I was constantly doing some of the other shows. Last year as well I got the offer to be a part of a comedy show which I could not do because I was bound by my contract and I cannot work on another channel. Khatron Ke Khiladi was one kind of experience. I did not think I could do it and I feel I could have done much better. I feel I took Khatron Ke Khiladi too soon in my life, I could have waited a little more. I think that as strong as I am now; I was vulnerable back then. I feel you need to be very head strong for that show. The show was like a paid vacation for us where we were tortured. We used to get a break after every 2 days and we used to roam a lot that day. We used to go out and party our hearts out during that break and when we came back, we took advantage of the beautiful stay that they had given us.”
