MUMBAI: Star Plus' show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the longest-running daily soaps of the small screens.

When I started thinking about the character sketch of Kartik and Naira, the one thing which I thought is the jodi has to portray love in a very contemporary way which has to be very realistic. It had to be filled with all the cute nok-jhoks and bitter-sweet moments between Kaira. The jodi was created for the audience to connect. Kaira is nothing but a reflection of real-life couple. When both Mohsin Khan and Shivangi get into their characters, it appears to be extremely real.''
Rajan Shahi knows his audience extremely well and also knows how to churn out the best things from an actor and present it in the most creative and realistic way possible for the viewers to connect.
