The news has gone viral by now. The world has come to know that Shah Rukh Khan is said to have punched and slapped film-maker Shirish Kunder at the movie Agneepath’s success party last night (29 January 2012) thrown by Sanjay Dutt. Lot of versions have been presented by the media till now and while some say that Shirish actually provoked Shah Rukh, there are also many witnesses who recount that the King Khan simply vented out at him. However, our sources informed us that Shirish was enjoying a drink when Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards dragged him by his hair and started to punch. Thankfully, Sanjay Dutt intervened and pacified the situation. Reports suggest that Mr Khan was miffed with Shirish’s negative comments about his movie Ra.One on Twitter. “Shah Rukh takes a dig at many celebs at different award functions. Sab utke marne lagenge kya usko,” says an actor who chose to be anonymous. Shirish’s wife Farah Khan gave a statement to the media which reads, “Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. So it saddens me to see him doing the same.” We also called her up to find more information about the incident, but she refused to say anything about the fight and only said, “I am numb and shocked. I don’t want to make any other statement.” Sources further said that Farah and Shirish (though extremely miffed) have decided not to lodge any police complaint or call a press conference and talk about the confrontation. Furthermore, media has also reported that during the scuffle, Shah Rukh also took jibes and abused his long term foe, Salman Khan. Now only time will say how Salman bhai will respond to it and your guess is as good as ours. We called up Shah Rukh’s publicist Nilofer Qureshi but she refused to comment on the issue. Whatever be the truth, the incident will always send a bad message to millions out there who consider Bollywood actors and directors as their role models. Time to grow up guys!!!
