Gaurav Gera to do comedy flick and stage musical

Gaurav Gera is going places. The affable actor who shot to fame with his role Nandu in Sony’s Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin epitomizes humour and intelligence.

Our sources inform that Gaurav will soon be seen in a film titled Santa Banta Aur Lambretta. The film which is a breezy situational comedy of 90 minutes will be directed by successful writer-director-producer Ravi Rai.

Ravi Rai is known for soaps like Sailaab, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai, Sparsh, among others. Gaurav will play the lead in the movie which is being produced by the Vipul Shah, Sanjiv Sharma promoted Optimystix, added the source. The film is the first of a series of funny movies which will start airing on SAB, which is part of the Sony Entertainment Television stable.

Furthermore, the funnyman will also be seen in a musical play called Jhumru directed by Vikrant Pawar. Jhumru revolves around the legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s life and is to be staged at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. He has been stationed in the satellite northern town for the past three months. The play will have personal extracts from the singer’s life and his songs that created history and is likely to have its first show in December.

And it doesn’t end here. The actor seems to be keeping really busy these days. Talented Gaurav has also recently released his music video called Five Days of Facebook dedicated to a social networking site. It is a love story of five days wherein Gaurav will be seen with model Gayatri Chaudhari. Aspiring singer Rahul Bhatt has lent his voice to the album. And the video has already crossed 57,000 shares, further informed the source.

We talked to Gaurav who sounded pretty excited and said, “Yes, I am doing SAB’s short film. I am lucky to work with Ravi Rai as he is a legendary personality.”

However, the actor refrained from divulging much information on Jhumru, the musical play. “I can’t reveal much about the musical. All I can say is that it is very close to my heart and it’s worth a watch.” He added that he was delighted by the appreciation his video has been getting. “I frankly didn’t expect it,” he says with a beaming smile.
