All is not well with SAB TV’s show Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai which will now shift to 7.30 pm to accommodate new kids’ fantasy saga Baal Veer at 8 pm. This Optimystix project is a sequel of their earlier hit SAB TV show, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo.

However, the latter was based on a lie that the lead character Apoorva Shah (Sumeet Raghavan) had a family, while the current season deals with 3D’s (Tiku Talsania) search for groom for his sister (Mugdha Chapekar) and his niece who is endowed with 32 good qualities.

Producer Vipul D Shah shared, “Let’s face it… Golmaal Hai has not clicked and we were expecting much better ratings (0.6). There were lots of comparisons with Sajan Re and people expected us to better it.”

Apara Mehta who plays 3D’s unmarried sister also accepted that, “Sajan Re was better. What finally works is a good plot. We need to get our house in order and are trying to do that as well.”

Coming to the time slot shift Vipul stated, “We preferred to give 8pm for Baal Veer (produced by him again) for that slot is best for kids. As for Golmaal Hai Bhai, we are now trying to make the stories stronger at 7.30 slot.”

Remind him that early prime time slot has not worked for SAB TV before (Don’t Worry Chachu and Ammaji Ki Galli) and he said, “If repeats of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah can bring 1.5 TVR on the same slot, it means that if we give good performances with Golmaal Hai, we too can generate good ratings as well.”

A source who did not want to be named said, he will not be surprised if Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai too is taken off the air like other SAB TV shows such as Bhai Bhaiya Aur Brother and I Luv My India pertaining to low numbers. In comedy, once things start off you can’t completely change the story midway as in a family drama.

Let’s see how the show shapes up from here.
