MUMBAI: While Television’s sweetheart, Shweta Tiwari has been seen in multiple roles over the years, her stint as Guneet Sikka in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan has been widely appreciated by the audience. Not only does she play a single woman who is very independent and self-sufficient, she has been loved for her role as a to-be wife and mother too!
Guneet, who has been single for the longest time because of all the deceptions in the past, has finally found love in the later stage of her life and is ready to start a new chapter with her husband, Amber Sharma (played by Varun Badola). But the kind of maturity and grace she has maintained while transitioning from a single woman to a married one with a stepdaughter is commendable. She not only loves and cares about Amber (Varun Badola) with all her heart, but she also respects Niya’s (Anjali Tatrari) space and treats her more like a friend.
Talking about her character Guneet, Shweta says, “Guneet is a perfect role model for all the women who get married at a later stage in life and has to manage a family with children. She is not only a caring wife but an understanding mother figure too. She balances her equation perfectly with Amber and Niya, be it caring about Amber and calming him down when he gets anxious about his daughter Niya. Or be it giving advice to Niya from her life experiences and treating her just like her friend. She is extremely supportive towards Niya.”
Speaking further about this, Shweta says, “Apart from giving advice to Niya on career and life, she even confides in her when she has to find a solution about a problem with Amber. Her caring nature is what makes her lovable.”
