The Katori Amma of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares her personal and professional journey along with her experience of battling Covid-19

MUMBAI: Himani Shivpuri, a veteran in the television and film industry, has multiple feathers in her cap. Touching hearts of millions worldwide with her brilliant performance as Katori Amma for over a year in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, the actor shares her memorable learning experiences of the year 2020. 

Personal life: Himani Ji considers the year as bittersweet due to the restrictions imposed owing to the pandemic, but she is also thankful for having received the much-needed time to spend with her son. From watching movies to sharing heart to heart conversations, she believes that the break strengthened her bond with her only family left. The actor could also invest time in self-improvement sessions such as meditation. She believes that it helped her chart out a routine which helped her break-free from the otherwise cluttered lifestyle due to hectic work schedules. 

Fought Covid-19 emerged victoriously: Himani Shivpuri also tested positive for COVID-19 early this year and managed to survive it with a brave face. At the hospital, the actor, penned down a poem of her love and affection for her mother on Hindi Diwas. The video of her narrating the same received immense appreciation from her fans and viewers. The actor thanked her fans and close friends for being with her and giving her the required strength and courage.

Professional journey: Being a part of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan has been an absolute treat for Himani Shivpuri as the show recently completed its first anniversary. Our evergreen Ammaji is looking forward to achieving more significant and more remarkable milestones. Having brought about multiple variations to her role of Katori Amma by donning various looks such as young Amma, retro look with polka-dotted attire and hairdo, female disco dancer, politician, a modern-day woman in western outfits, etc., the actor sums 2020 as the year which helped her re-live her Bollywood memories.

Winning awards and accolades: The renowned actor received recognition at the hands of Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, former CM of Uttarakhand for her contribution to entertainment. Another win for Himani was being considered for the Best Legendary Actress title at the sixth season of International Iconic Awards held in the city recently followed by the Cinema AajTak achievers award 2020 for Versatile actress.

Welcoming 2021, Himani Shivpuri shares, “I am sure 2020 brought about a drastic change in everyone’s lifestyle, eating habits and standards of hygiene.
