MUMBAI: Ramayan's Lakshman, essayed by actor Sunil Lahri, has become the talk of the town. During the lockdown, the rerun of Ramayan has proved to be one of the major hits amongst others. From Arun Govil's Ram and Dipika Chikhlia's Sita to Arvind Trivedi's Raavan, all these characters keep trending on social media. Amongst all these, Lakshman's character has become the current generation's favourite for his angry man-attitude and to-the-point conversations in the show. However, very few know that Sunil forayed into films before portraying the iconic character of Lakshman on the small screen.

Sunil Lahri did his first film with the gorgeous and talented late Smita Patil. The film was titled Naxalite. Sunil was in his late teens and shared the memory on his Instagram account. He wrote: 'Sharing old memory with all my friends and followers, I was lucky to work in very first film Naxalite with most talented & beautiful actress late Ms Smita Patil and another very renowned & talented filmmaker writer late Mr k. A. Abbas at my late teenage age (sic)'

The actor also did a film titled Phir Aayee Barsat (1985) with the renowned singer-actor Ashok Kumar's granddaughter, Anuradha Patel. He shared a collage of pictures from the song and captioned, 'Romantic song from film Phir Aaye Barsat where i acted along with Anuradha Patel granddaughter of Ashok Kumar (sic)'.

Did you know that the late actor Vinod Khanna essayed Sunil Lahri's father's role in a film. He reminisced about the memory by sharing it on his Instagram account. and stated, 'Sharing dream memory with my fans.... I was lucky to work with super star Vinod Khanna as my father (sic)'.
