MUMBAI: Rajan Shahi's "Anupamaa" is all about women empowerment, and how her development results in the progress of the whole family. When Anupamaa decided to learn to drive, her husband Vanraj was against her decision because he doesn't believe in equality especially when it comes to his wife.

Babuji's sudden health issue made her realise that even the women in their house should know how to drive so that if something like that happens again, they don't have to wait for a man to come to their rescue. But Vanraj who can't see Anupamaa moving forward tries to make a big issue out of it and even asks Baa to interfere. Baa, who had praised Anupamaa and credited her for saving Babuji's life, also spoke against her and said that her responsibility is to take care of the house and nothing more.

Anupamaa very patiently explained her that she is doing it for her family so that they don't have to look for anyone else when need arises. Baa who was quite adamant in not letting Anupamaa go seemed to have understood the need of the hour and did not stop her.

This is Anupamaa's first step towards her own development which is not good just for herself but for her whole family. This is hurting Vanraj's ego, but he can't do anything, and though how much he tried, he couldn't stop her.

Anupamaa is moving forward in life, and though she is not in good terms with Vanraj, she has not yet revealed anything about his affair. The show is unfolding new drama with each episode, and is going to give the audience more entertainment in the coming days.

Produced by Rajan Shahi and his mother Deepa Shahi, "Anupamaa" airs at 10 p.m. on Star Plus. It features Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Paras Kalnawat, Aashish Mehrotra, Muskaan Bamne, Arvind Vaidya, Alpana Buch, Shekhar Shukla, Nidhi Shah and Anagha Bhosale.
