I am happy that I am not married to an actress: Rohitashv Gour

Rohitashv Gour

Television actor Rohitashv Gour, who is popularly known as Manmohan Tiwari on &TV’s comic show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, is quite experienced, thanks to the magnitude of work he has done on TV and the big screen.

In conversation with Tellychakkar.com, the talented actor talks about his show, bond with co-stars and more. Read on to know more…

Talking about the recognition he’s received, he said, “I am very happy. I was not confident about the show working as it was a new channel. But I never thought that the show would ever impress viewers so much. It is encouraging as well as surprising.”

Why is he surprised by the instant fame? “Well, the show has a beautiful storyline and has some of the finest actors. But our viewers have gotten used to watching saas bahu soaps. So I thought Bhabhiji may not impress them that much. The response has been overwhelming as they have not only accepted the show, but also absolutely loved it,” added Rohitashv.

So do you help your reel wife Shilpa Shinde with dialogues?  He quipped, “We are from Kanpur in the show, so we have to talk in that dialect. But being a Maharashtrian, she cannot get the twang and the words right. I know the language as I also hail from the same state. Whenever she fumbles with a word or phrase, I come to her rescue with my linguistic expertise.”

Tell us about your bonding with your real wife? “My wife and I bond very well. She is in cancer research institute and I am an actor so there are no ego clashes between us. The best thing that’s happened to me is that I have not married an actress. I am saying this because when you marry a person who is from the same profession then you tend to compare each other. This comparison leads to fights and misunderstanding. My wife supports me a lot in my life,” shared the actor

It’s just four of you on the sets, so do you miss a huge cast? “We are happy that we are just four on the sets and we all bond well. Slowly, the makers are bringing people to add more spice and fun to the show. Since most of our scenes are together, the four of us spend a lot of time interacting with one other. Thus, we share an amazing bond with each other on and off screen,” summed up Rohitashv.
