MUMBAI: Actor Gireesh Sahdev has done a plethora of television and Bollywood films in the likes of Divya Drishti, Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga, Ramleela, Rustom among many other projects. He has enchanted the audience with his performance through various character roles.

While his last television project was Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga, we contacted Gireesh to know more about his career choices and his take on the way the entertainment industry is progressing. In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Gireesh said, “I would like to see myself doing projects where I can play a protagonist and be full of manhood. I want to do performance oriented roles in projects which are closer to reality. Nowadays we are getting into realistic stories so I would want to play a character like that. The evolution of the digital medium was very important as the OTT platform has a global base and there are quite a lot of amazing projects being launched. It is a new era and it gives a chance to actors and directors who are not getting a chance to make it big in Bollywood or television.“

We also asked Gireesh about favouritism in the industry.

The actor shared, “I believe that whatever project you are chosen for, you get it on your merit. I have not faced nepotism or favoritism in the industry. The difference between television and Bollywood is that when you have a bound script, you can plan better. On television, you do not have a bound script. You are informed about what you are going to shoot for a night before and that difference is always going to be there are time and deadline constraints. How much ever hard work you put in, this will always have a reflection in your work. In television, actors and directors give their 100 percent but because they receive details of the next scene on a short notice, there will always be a difference when you watch a television show vis-à-vis web series and films.”

Well said Gireesh! (Also Read: Avneet Kaur's phone gets HACKED)
