I can't imagine 'Bigg Boss' without Salman sir.- Akshit Sukhija

MUMBAI: "Shubharambh" actor Akshit Sukhija is busy with his work commitments, but whenever he gets a chance, he makes sure to watch the current season of the reality show "Bigg Boss". Though he is loving the new "Ab scene paltega" concept, he feels introducing seniors was not fair to the new contestants as they have an advantage in the show.

He also feels that because of the interferences by the seniors, the freshers have not been able to play their game. "As far as the tagline 'ab scene paltega' is concerned, I guess it's apt because they have come up with a new concept this time. The way the contestants entered and then they were called 'freshers' and then the 'seniors' - Hina Khan, Sidharth Shukla and Gauahar Khan were introduced, it was quite interesting. But I guess if you compare with the last seasons, every new entrant considered himself or herself as the captain, however, in this season the seniors are controlling the whole house, which I feel is not fair to the freshers," he said.

"The seniors have an upper hand and I guess that's why the freshers are not able to open up. But I am ok with it since Sidharth is my favourite. Whatever he wants to say, he will say it to your face, I understand that he gets hyper but I like people who are not double-faced. I like Gauahar too," he added. This year the show has contestants like Nishant Singh Malkhani, Jasmin Bhasin, Eijaz Khan, Pavitra Punia, Nikki Tamboli, Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla, Rahul Vaidya, and Jaan Kumar Sanu.

Talking about the contestants, Akshit said, "I feel Nishant has not opened up yet. When I saw him in the premiere episode, I felt he is very confident and entertaining, but I guess he has not opened up because of the seniors. I think Jasmin is doing really great, other than her I think Eijaz is doing great. And I feel Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are a cute couple."

"My favourite contestants are Jasmin, Rubina and I feel Pavitra is a chupa-rustam. I think she is doing great but she can do much more," he added.

This year the contestants are only from the entertainment industry, unlike the previous seasons. Expressing his views on the same, the young actor said, "This year all the contestants are from showbiz, and I guess if you see it from the channel's point of view, it gets them more hype and more TRP and of course more entertainment."

"Fans also get entertained because they get to see the real personality of the celebrities from showbiz whom they idolise. But even if they have a mix of contestants, I guess it will still be fun like we have seen in the previous seasons," he added.

Akshit is also a big fan of superstar and host Salman Khan. Revealing how he met him last year along with his "Shubharambh" co-star Mahima Makwana, he said, "He was very sweet and kind to me and Mahima when we went on the show last year. I was wearing his jacket and it was just before my TV debut and he was so nice to us. He is the perfect host for the show. I can't imagine 'Bigg Boss' without Salman sir."

"I have noticed that since the past two-three seasons, he has calmed down a bit. He talks to contestants and explains to them whether they are playing well or not, but that's about it. Unlike the previous seasons, he now maintains his calm and leaves it to the contestant whether they want to follow his advice or not," Akshit added.
