Siddharth Sagar is a stand-up comedian, yes, but that’s not his only talent. He is also a musician- a harmonium and tabla player along with being an avid reader. Said Siddharth, “I was inclined towards doing stand-up comedy from the time I was 8 years old. My parents encouraged me to excel in the profession and I started performing on stage. Being spiritual in nature, my mentor guided me to come to Mumbai to pursue my dreams. It is only because of him that I am in the city of dreams.” Seen adding value to the entertainment quotient in shows such as Comedy Circus and its seasons, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe; Laughter Ke Phatke, Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan and currently in Pritam Pyaare Aur Woh, the actor does not want to limit himself by only being called a stand-up artist. He averred, “Well, comedy is my forte and I have bolstered my skill and confidence with the opportunities that have come my way. But I do not want to be recognised as a comedian. I want to be renowned as an actor. I would never do a melodramatic daily soap but a show like Pritam Pyaare Aur Woh is definitely something I would not miss out on.” Talking about his experience shooting for the show, he expressed about his bonding with the people on the sets. Highlighting an incident where he played a prank on Prasad Barve who is scared of ghosts he said, “Well it was funny because Prasad is very scared of ghosts in real life and when Melissa Pais who essays the witch wore her costume, he refrained from making eye contact due to her white lenses which would scare him out of his wits. So when he was busy on his laptop I asked Melissa to keep her hand on his shoulder and as soon as he turned he started shouting loudly out of fear. He did not talk to me for days and also joked of how he could have got a heart attack. I practically play pranks on everyone on the sets and keep the atmosphere jovial.” However, Siddharth shares a different bonding with the Sarabhai V/s Sarabhai fame, Rajesh Kumar. Both are very spiritual by nature and can go on talking on the subject for long hours. While bidding adieu, the witty man also shared his thoughts on how aspirants should not be easily discouraged. He said, “I would like to thank everyone for their love and would like to tell my fans and other aspirants that come what may, they should not be discouraged when they fail in something. One should learn to be happy with what they have, and if they fail to achieve something, they should not feel bad as not all will are fortunate to have everything.” Well said, Siddharth!!!
