Radhika Madan is the new buzzing talent in the small screen space. Her acting debut with Colors’ Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi (Balaji Telefilms) has received much appreciation from the masses as well as the fraternity.

Recently, we met her and over a cup of coffee chatted with her on various subjects. Here’s a lowdown.

She shared, “I am enjoying playing the character of Ishani. Ishani now has seen a change in fortune and is poor. But I loved enacting the earlier Ishani part who was rich. My current role demands me to be calm and feeble while earlier I needed to be bubblier and chirpier, something similar to my real life.”

Being a non actor to an actor, how has the transition been? “The change has been very good and satisfying. But still I am working on my body language. I need to be more natural and camera friendly. Initially it was very difficult for me to shoot for many hours but now I have got used to. In between I had shot for 56 hours at a stretch.”

That’s impressive!!!

The show has more of young actors, so how is the off-screen bonding? “The off-screen bonding is stronger than the on-screen. We have lot of masti on the sets and my co-stars always imitate and make fun of me. I like to have positive people around me not the bitchy ones.”

Are you open to criticism? “Yes, of course. I know I am not the best but I am working towards it. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing team especially Shakti Arora. He is very helpful and a dear friend.”

With such a busy schedule how do you cope up with your studies? “Right now, I am studying commerce through correspondence, so it doesn’t demand much of time.”

Great going Radhika!
