MUMBAI: Indian Idol is one of the most popular singing reality shows. The show has returned with 11th season and has already struck a chord with the audience. Music composer Vishal Dadlani, Anu Malik and singer Neha Kakkar have reprised their role of judges on the show, while Aditya Narayan is hosting the season.
Speaking about Neha Kakkar, she recently grabbed headlines when one of the contestants forcibly kissed her. The singer is now again hitting the headlines, however, this time around for her sweet gesture towards one of the participants. One of the contestants, Diwas came on stage and revealed how after audition he has been getting a lot of support from his family and friends from Jharkhand. He also shared how he got super elated when Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar praised him. For the uninitiated, Sachin had praised many singers including Diwas for their singing talent and wished them success too.
The budding singer later revealed that this is his special Diwali as he is singing in front of esteemed judges. However, he got emotional when he spoke about how he has not been able to spend the festival for six years with his family. He added how all these years he used to work in some factory and just listened to the bursting crackers. This stunned and moved the judges. Neha Kakkar said that she would like to gift him Rs. 1 Lakh to celebrate Diwali with his family. She also asked him to travel via plane and get his family members' new clothes and sweetmeats. Vishal Dadlani also praised him for his saaf dil which he thinks reflects in his voice.
