MUMBAI: Amazon Prime announced its series Gormint two years ago. It was supposed to star Irrfan Khan in the lead role. However, the project underwent certain difficulty in its making owing to Irrfan Khan’s poor health condition.

Now, the latest we hear is that Amazon has once again started to work towards the project with an entirely different cast. Manav Kaul, who has been known for his notable work in the industry with projects like Tumhari Sulu, has been roped in for the series.

Directed by Apayya KM, the series will be a fictional political comedy show and will also star Shikha Talsania, Girish Kulkarni, Smita Jayakar, and Sulabha Arya in important roles.

'Gormint' has been created by Gursimran Khamba and he has co-written it along with Dhruv Narang and Gaurav Mishra.

On the work front, Irrfan will be next seen in sequel to Hindi Medium titled Angrezi Medium, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, and Pankaj Tripathi.
