It's not about looks, it's about whether you fit in a character or not: Akshit Sukhija

MUMBAI: "Shubharambh" fame Akshit Sukhija has a great piece of advice for all those aspiring actors, who think they only need good looks to make a name for themselves in the industry. Revealing that he has a big mark on his forehead from an injury, he said that it's about the actor's aura and personality that helps him in bagging a role.

"Looks are not important to become an actor. I have a visible mark on my forehead, and it did not stop me from getting 'Shubharamabh'. I can give the example of Jason Momoa too, even though he has a cut on his eyebrows, that did not stop him from becoming a star in Hollywood. So looks are not the only thing that matters. When I got finalised for 'Shubharambh' my personality matched that of my on-screen character Raja, and that's why they chose me," he said.

But what will you prefer: good looks or good acting? "I will always choose good acting. Even before I entered the industry people used to compliment me and say I am very handsome and good looking, and I always thanked them, but this is not something that I have done, it was done by God, and thanking them for such compliments never satisfied me. But when I did the show 'Shubharambh ' and people started saying that I am a good actor, thanking them for this gave me inner joy and peace," he said.

The actor recently got a photoshoot done, and sharing details about it, he said, "I have been modelling for the past seven years but I did not take up any project in the last two years because I got into acting. I have a good experience in posing and expressions, and I was missing it. The last shoot I got done was in January 2019 for Lifestyle, and after that, it's this designer shoot."

"The photographer was Khushboo Gulati, the stylist was Kishore Kumar, the makeup and hairstylist was Kuku Bhatti. I am loving the result and can't wait for my fans to see it," he added.

But do you prefer black and white or coloured pictures? "I feel both, colour and black and white, pics have their own aura, and meaning. I would prefer colourful and vibrant pictures, but I must admit that black and white pictures are very classy. Even in this photoshoot, I have a couple of black and white pictures, it gives you a different feel. But having said that I feel that colourful pictures are more attractive," Akshit signed off.
