Joyeeta and Saptak voted out of Ek Main...

"Yeh jo public hai, yeh sab jaanti hai!,” said Saptak without knowing what fate had in store for him. When Rajeev/Sanchali get the highest votes from viewers this week on Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Saptak appealed to viewers to vote in such a manner that the participants feel encouraged to sing. And, it is Saptak from Kolkatta and his Assamese singing partner Joyeeta who have been voted out by the public this week. Though their performances were improving each week, their rankings were slipping.
The last four jodis Saptak/Joyeeta and Prakakta/Hrishikesh were allowed to sing the R D Burman songs given to them before the hosts announce which of them is the borderline pair and who goes home. Joyeeta/Saptak sang Pyar Mein Dil Pe Maar De Goli well without any trace of tension. Though Prajakta/Hrishikesh sang Chura liya equally well, an underlying hint of tension was obvious at being the last two jodis for second week. With viewer’s choices not matching the judge’s rankings, Saptak/Joyeeta accepted the public’s decision gracefully. They were relieved to be out of the show as it gives them a chance to focus on their singing and explore opportunities in Mumbai. The couple has been friends for the last four years and were happy to be paired. Both intend setting up base in Mumbai and pursue a career in playback singing for films. Speaking to Tellychakkar.com Saptak says, ‘Just as we were getting good, we have been voted out. Our singing barometer has improved considerably since we entered this series. We owe a lot to music directors Anand Sharma and Anujj Kapoor in grooming our voices and guiding us.” Joyeeta, who is known for being sentimental from the Challenge 2005 days stayed remarkably composed on hearing that they were voted out. She says, “It's a contest. Only one jodi can win. We are looking ahead and are happy to have been a part of this series as it has helped hone our voice skills.” Meanwhile, Prajakta /Hrishikesh have to wow audiences in Indore this week, having received the least number of votes from there.
