Karan Oberoi has always been more popular for his link-ups than his work life. The actor turned singer turned anchor is nose deep in rumors about his current show Lil Champs on ZEE and its future. The show had a problem with its earlier anchor Sunil Pal as he complained of ill treatment. As Karan stepped in he realised that things were not hunky dory and soon rumors of him not getting his dues were splashed over the scribes. The latest one to haunt the anchor is that child star Sameer Mohammad, the current favourite amongst the audience is getting a high on fame. "He has become a hot air balloon and acts as if he's a star!" complains a contestant. The usual buzz is that he throws his attitude and makes people wait and in turn blows the lid of the judges. The kid lacks professionalism, period. But when the entire cast bombards him to earth, Karan defends the 11 year old, in spite of being subjected to his tantrums. "They are kids, how do you expect them to react? It happens, Sameer's biggest problem is that he butts in every conversation and doesn't let anybody finish talking. There have been times when I have been upset with him for cutting off someone's speech. It's generally a bad habit," he explains Is that all, then why did the executives from the channel pull him up? "The fact is that when he barges into your speech, you have to re-shoot everything and that takes up a lot of production time. And when they fired Sameer on the set, I had to calm them down because it's not good to yell at a child in public. I had problems and I dealt with them in my own way. He is a baby; everybody reacts like this to fame at this age. I believe if you let it seep into him and he will turn out different." Apparently Karan has nothing to complain from the contestants and the show; he loves kids and has a way with them, "I adore them and get along very well, that was the biggest incentive to take up the show in the first place." Karan was for a while touted as girlfriend Mona Singh's arm candy, when his boy band weren't coming up with another album or he was seen doing any serious work on television. However the tables have turned and Sony's brand ambassador is on a long hiatus since there hasn't been anything of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nhai's caliber. Karan announced after a great amount of pestering by the media that they were to tie the knot by early 2008. With Karan's future looking bright, his way with children, for Mona its time to say cheers!
