Let's take a look at the controversies which actress Shweta Tiwari had to undergo, owing to both of her failed marriages

It seems like nothing goes right when it comes to Shweta Tiwari's marital life as after the fallout of her first marriage with actor Raja Chaudhary, her second marriage with Abhinav Kohli also seems to be at stake. Read on to know more about her marital controversies.

MUMBAI: Shweta Tiwari, the OG Prerna Sharma of Kasautii Zindagii Kay has portrayed many memorable characters, including Sweety in Parvarrish and Bindiya Thakur in Begusarai.

The actress had also participated in many reality shows including Bigg Boss 4, Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Notably, she emerged as the winner of the former two shows.

Currently, Shweta is currently seen in the role of Guneet Sikka in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan.

While the actress has always been in the news for her work-related announcement, Shweta's tumultuous private life controversies have often made themselves to the headlines as well.

The actress first married actor Raja Chaudhary in 1998 and got divorced later.

In July 2013, Shweta tied the knot with actor Abhinav Kohli.

Both of her marriages, however, had it's own share of differences, leading to their eventual fallouts.

It was in 1998 that Shweta and Raja tied the knot. After nine years of marriage, the actress filed for a divorce in 2007. The actress claimed that theirs was a troubled marriage, owing to Raja's alleged alcoholism and domestic violence. According to reports, Shweta had alleged that Raja used to beat her and turn up on the sets of her shows to misbehave with her.

Shweta's daughter Palak Tiwari, who is now ready for her film debut, has been by her mother's side as a rock. To date, she is a pillar of strength for her mom.

Later, Shweta got married to Abhinav Kohli on 13th July 2013. They welcomed their first child Riyansh Kohli in 2016. Three years on, Shweta filed a complaint of domestic violence against husband Abhinav as well, alleging that Abhinav used to harass her and her daughter, Palak. In 2019, the duo parted ways.

In 2019, Palak had also penned down an elaborate note, wherein she alleged that Abhinav subjected her to verbal abuse and not physical abuse. Palak, in her post, alleged that Abhinav hadn't hit Shweta except for the day the actress filed the complaint. However, she had accused him of making inappropriate remarks targetting her on various occasions. "Abhinav Kohli has never physically molested me, or touched me inappropriately. However, he did persistently make inappropriate and disturbing remarks the impact of which is only known to my mother and me, and if any woman from any walk of life were to hear them she would be greatly embarrassed and provoked too.", read a part of her now-deleted post on Instagram.

On a reverse-note, Abhinav has been vocal on social media and has made many accusations against the actress. Earlier this month, Abhinav alleged that Shweta had vanished off with their 3 y/o son. The actor claimed that he tried to contact the family but is unable to reach them out. He also alleged that Shweta isn't picking up her calls and has blocked him from everywhere. This allegation came after Shweta was diagnosed with coronavirus and Riyansh was allegedly staying with his father for around 40 days.

Shweta herself has never shied away from talking about the troubles in her marriages. Reportedly, the actress had once hit back at the trolls for criticising her over the fallout of her second marriage. "I want to ask those people who are saying how can her marriage go wrong even for the second time. I want to ask them why can’t things go wrong. At least, I have the courage to face it and come out in open and talk about the problem.", she had said.

The actress had also talked about how her decision is for the betterment of her family and her kids. She also took a dig at those who are engaged in extra-marital affairs and said that she's better than them. "I think I am better than them at least I have guts to come out and say dude I don’t want to stay with you.", she said.
