Rajshri Productions’ next for Life OK will be a typical family drama, with a ‘slice of life’ element. The show holds the tentative title of ‘Khel Khel Mein’ for the moment, but will go in for a change before the launch. And as usual, the production house is looking at a good mix of known and fresh talent. Seasoned actor Mahesh Thakur, who is a known name in both the TV and Bollywood circuit will play one of the important characters. Thakur, who was last seen in Sasural Genda Phool on TV, was earlier part of Rajshri’s popular movie, Hum Saath Saath Hain. Dolly ‘Bhabhi’ Sohi, who recently bagged important roles in Devon Ke Dev.. Mahadev and The Adventures of Hatim, will play wife to Mahesh Thakur. Suchitra Bhandekar (seen in Rajshri’s ongoing show, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara) will play the character of the Bua. The show, we hear will launch post IPL. The shoot for the same will kick-start in Mathura from the first week of April. It has already been reported in the media that Alok Nath will play the patriarch of the boy’s family. Actors Harsh Vashisht and Karuna Pandey, who are Rajshri loyalists, will also be part of the show. When contacted, Dolly Sohi confirmed the news stating, “Yes, I will play the mother to the lead boy. It is a very strong character, something I was looking forward to.” Mahesh Thakur, who gets back to TV after Sasural Genda Phool said, “Yes, I play an integral part in the show. This will be my first TV show for Rajshri Productions, after having associated with them in their movies. I am looking forward to this association.” Moving on to the leads on the show, a source tells us, “The female protagonist will surely be a fresh face to TV. We are looking at options at the moment. For the male protagonist, we are looking at a semi-known face.” If sources are to be believed, Samridh Bawa, who was seen in The Buddy Project, is also in the reckoning for the male lead’s role in the show.
