Manav Vij turns singer for his Punjabi pop album titled 'Punjab Mail'

Manav Vij, who has essayed pivotal roles in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Mitwa – Phool Kamal Ke, is looking forward to the release of his Punjabi films. The actor also adds a new feather in his cap by turning singer for his maiden pop album which is due for release in mid-December 2012.

Manav’s Punjabi film ‘Burrraaahhh!’ is about to release on 19 October. Another movie of his, ‘Sarsa’ directed by critically acclaimed director Jatinder Mauhar with Gul Panag as co-star will release in November. In addition to this, Manav has another Punjabi film up his sleeve ‘Zorawar Lakho Waliye’ for which he will start shooting in December.

The actor is presently working on his Punjabi Pop Album titled ‘Punjab Mail’, wherein the title signifies his first journey boarding the Punjab Mail from Ferozepur to Mumbai. The work on the audio tracks has been completed, and the team will soon start shooting for the video portions. The music for the album has been given by Sham-Balkar who is a renowned lyricist in Punjab.

When Tellychakkar.com contacted him, Manav had this to say, “Punjabi cinema has always been my passion while TV is the medium I owe my success to and is responsible for giving me the strength to sustain in Mumbai.”

On his maiden pop album, Manav says, “I always had a liking for music. My mother was a music professor. Today she is no more, but I believe that she wants me to carry forward her dreams. My pop album has a nice mix of peppy, romantic and pathos numbers.”

Manav considers his wife and actress Meher Vij as his lucky charm who inspired him to work on his album. “Yes, Meher is the creative mind behind me recording my album. I always wanted to do it, but never had the zeal and conviction to carry it forward. Meher has motivated me and helped me a lot in selecting the songs for the album.”

On getting back to television, Manav states, “I am open to television. I am waiting for a challenging role, and hope I will get one soon.”
