Manish Nawani, guest editor for Tellychakkar.com, took a snappy interview of Kanika Kotnala who plays his onscreen sister in Channel V's The Buddy Project (Sunshine Productions). When asked as to how she got into acting, she replied, “It happened by chance that I got into acting. I had never wanted to become an actor.” Regarding her fan following on the show she was modest and honest. “Only my close friends and family members are saying that I am doing well. I am not getting any reviews from elsewhere.” She did admit that she preferred her life in Mumbai than to her life in her hometown- Dehra Dun. “The atmosphere in Dehra Dun is very conservative. In Mumbai I live a very independent life. When my mom isn’t here I cook on my own. I am enjoying it, be it waking up early in the morning, going home late at night and cooking.” Manish went down memory lane raking up the time when she was struggling in her career. He reminded her that there was a time when she didn’t eat properly as she was trying to save money despite being a foodie. She replied philosophically, “It was just a phase and I have learnt a lot from that. I can relive that phase if it comes again. It won’t be a problem.” On a concluding note she said that she liked being Manish’s on screen sister. “When I saw you I felt that you resembled my real brother which gave me a comfort level. Manish laughed, “I will take it as good vibes and not brotherly vibes.”
