Manjeet Kullar didn't audition for Sati's role in Om Namah Shivay; here's why

MUMBAI: Indian television has witnessed a number of mythological shows which were quite popular among the viewers. 

Some of the hit mythological shows include Ramayan, Mahabharat, Jai Shree Krishna, among others. Apart from these, Om Namah Shivaywhich aired on Doordarshan, was quite popular among the viewers. 

The show starred a stellar cast. Manjeet Kullar played the role of Sati while Samar Jai Singh was seen as Lord Shiva. 

During her recent interview with TellyChakkar, Manjeet revealed an interesting fact about herself. She shared how she bagged the role of Sati.

The actress said that the makers did not take her audition. Yes, you read it right! 

Manjeet said that Dheeraj Kumar who directed the show felt that she had the quality to play Sati and that's how she was finalised. The actress just signed the contract and bagged the role. 

Also, Om Namah Shivay aired in the late 90s and while the technology was still developing, the makers tried their best to give the viewers a visual experience.
