MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television, with its progressive, finite fiction shows, has struck the right chord with the audience over the years. 'Story 9 Months Ki' is the perfect example where the protagonist of the show, Sukirti Kandpal aka Alia Shroff ‘chooses’ to become a mother without a partner, opting to embrace motherhood on her own terms. The show aims to provoke a positive line of thought and discussion about the choice of motherhood, with an eclectic mix of romance, comedy, drama, and emotions added in.

While Sarangdhar becomes the donor for Alia’s baby unknowingly, Alia is gearing up to become a mother. Though she wants to bring up a child on her and doesn’t want Sarang in her life, Alia goes to Mathura to stay with Sarang’s family as part of her bigger plan. Irrespective of the events that have happened in Alia’s life, becoming a mother is what she is positively looking forward to. 

Speaking about this, Sukirti said, “Alia’s decision of opting for IVF and becoming a single mother is one of her bold moves and I personally back her decision. Pregnancy is a very important phase in a woman's life. However, whether Alia sees it yet or not, Sarang being the donor of her baby is very well concerned and responsible. He is doing his bit and is ensuring that he is fulfilling his duties during this time. It’s very important in such a period for a mother to not only be physically fit but mentally secure as well. Mental well-being during pregnancy is very important.”

Adding to this, she said, “During pregnancy, it is inevitable that a woman will experience some ‘pregnancy-specific anxieties’ which are characterized by the worries, concerns, and fears that a woman may experience relating to her pregnancy, childbirth, the health of her baby, and her future role of mothering her baby and Sarangdhar knows it all too well. He is taking care of Alia and baby's health as much as he can, and this will be the turning point in their lives when Alia will realise what love is in the real sense.”
