Mrinal Kulkarni who has just been essaying positive roles has shocked the audience by breaking the set mould. The beautiful actress who played Mother Fairy in Star Plus’ Son Pari is playing a negative role for the first time in Star Plus’ Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. Her character Rani Sahiba will get meaner now. Talking about the shocker, Mrinal says, “First of all I don’t think it is a negative role. I am just playing an obsessed mother who wants to give the best to her son. She can go to any extent for the happiness of her son. She feels very strongly for her son who has been deprived of basic rights and she is fighting against it.” “While essaying the role I am trying to justify the actions and deeds of Rani Sahiba. She has a reason that would unfold later in the show justifying her actions. Now my character knows no limits and will do anything to get things right for her son- be it hurting or even killing someone,” adds the actress. When asked the reason accepting a negative role, Mrinal says, “I have played positive roles all my life and after sometime it becomes monotonous and doesn’t excite you much. To experience the excitement I have decided to do negative role. Initially, even I was apprehensive and insecure about going negative as this is the first time I was doing something against my set image. I myself got scared after watching myself enact those scenes. But I am receiving compliments from my fans and even the channel is happy with my work.”
