MUMBAI: Although the big screen is the ultimate goal of every actor, luck doesn't favour anyone and everyone. While some make it big, some actors projects never see the light of the day, or some artists' projects fail miserably. There are a few actors that the audience loves to watch on TV but little do they know that they kickstarted from Bollywood. Thriving to survive there, these actors switched to TV and earned fame and wealth here and are still popular mostly due to TV.

1- Apurva Agnihotri

Best remembered for his role in Pardes, Apurva Agnihotri tried hard to find his stand-in Bollywood but it was the TV that satisfied his hunger for acting. Recently, he was seen in the show Anupamaa as Dr Advait Khanna for a brief period of time. Other than this, he is known for his roles in serials namely Bepannah, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Radha Ki Betiyaan, Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, and many more. Moreover, Apurva has also gained recognition from reality shows like Nach Baliye, Pati Patni Aur Woh, and Bigg Boss.

2-Vivek Mushran

The 'ILU ILU' boy Vivek Mushran became an overnight sensation after this film Saudagar but went on to deliver quite a few flop films. After this, he was spotted on TV shows such as Main Maayeke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo, Son Pari, Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, and many more. 

3-Ayub Khan

Ashish Chowdhry was seen as Boman in Dhamaal. Though his role was appreciated and he did several other films too, it was the TV show, Dev that changed his fate for the good. He's done a few shows as well.

4-Nakuul Mehta

Nakuul Mehta is one of the A-list actors of the telly town, his debut movie Haal-e-Dil was a disaster at the Box-office. He then switched his stream and made a smashing debut with Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara opposite actress Disha Parmar. His role as Shivaay Singh Oberoi in Ishqbaaz is quite a rage even years after the show has gone off-air.

5-Raqesh Bapat

Raqesh Bapat was one of the three heroes in the 90s superhit film, Tum Bin. However, it only fetched him some small roles in other films but nothing soo great or big. Later, he stuck to befriended TV with the show Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar and went on to do shows like Ishq Mein Marjawan, Tu Aashiqui, Qubool Hai, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Maryaada: Lekin Kab Tak?

6-Sumeet Raghavan

Sumeet Raghavan is currently playing the lead role in the television sitcom, Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey. He has a great fan following. The actor has played some progressive characters over a period of time on TV. However, he also has a few films to his credit but his Bollywood career did not strike up. Speaking about the same,he mentioned "Nobody asks me in Bollywood. Let’s be very frank about this. It’s quite shameful but true. You know which face works on TV or films. Struggling to get a role in a film was never in my nature. Whatever happens, happens for good. You should learn to find your own happiness. I never pursued films per se. I will give 100 % credit to the TV shows for my career."

7-Vatsal Sheth

He played the lead in one of the popular films- Taarzan: The Wonder Car. Vatsal Sheth starred in that film with Ajay Devgn, Ayesha Takia and Farida Jalal but the film did not work in his favour. Vatsal's performance as a child artist in Just Mohabbat is still fresh in the memories. When his filmy career did not work that great, Vatsal took a u-turn to TV as the male lead with the show, Ek Hasina Thi. He was also seen in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke.

8-Iqbal Khan

Actor Iqbal Khan is best remembered for his daily soaps Dil Se Dil Tak, Angad Khanna in Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai, Kahiin Toh Hoga, Waaris, Kavyanjali and never looked back. He is now doing a web show. Iqbal, too, had started from Bollywood with films like Kuch Dil Ne Kaha, Fun2shh and Bullet but it did not create wonders for him.
