MUMBAI: Colors' Balika Vadhu 2 is one of the most popular programmes on television today. On public demand, the show had returned with its second season. The previous season focused on a Rajasthani context of child marriage, while the new season focuses on a Gujarati backdrop over the same subject.

Balika Vadhu 2 shifted to Voot after Iqbal Ahlawat’s Swarna Ghar replaced it on Colors. The show stars Shivangi Joshi as Anandi and Randeep Rai as Anand. Recently, the two lead characters jointly confirmed that the show is going to be called off. They jointly made a statement saying, “Every show has its own journey and this one was for a shorter period of time. It was a small journey yet lovely.”
When the two stars were asked about the reason behind the show going off-air, Randeep said, “We did not get enough time. The audience also needs time to connect because it was an ongoing show and then we came onboard. Most of them don't even know that the show had taken a leap and we came on board. This is why I feel that we weren't given much time or things didn't happen the way they should have been, else we would have managed to make a place in the hearts of the audience. Else, we were very sure that we'll win the fans."
On the other hand, Shivangi gave her opinion by saying, “I would see people appreciating our work on social media. We were very honest with our work. This was a small journey but beautiful."
