MUMBAI: It is said becoming a mother is the greatest gift. However, embracing motherhood also means embracing lots of responsibilities.  

Often, women quit or take a break from their careers to raise their child and spend more time with them. Many TV celebs too take a break from acting after embarking on the journey of parenthood. 

Take a look at the list of actors who took a break from their work to concentrate on their child. 

Anita Hassanandani: The actress and her husband Rohit Reddy welcomed their first child, Aarav in February this year. The actor has been embracing the new journey since then. Recently, Anita said that she has no plans of returning to TV and wants to spend time with her kid. “I had decided that whenever I would have a child, I would leave the industry and let go of my work. I always wanted to focus on being a mother,” the actor told ETimes. However, later Anita clarified that she will return to TV when the time is right as acting is her first love. 

Disha Vakani: The actress, who is immensely popular for the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, took a maternity break in 2018 and since then she hasn't been seen on-screen playing the popular character of Daya Ben. Daya got married to chartered accountant Mayur Pandya in 2015 and the couple was blessed with a baby girl, Stuti, in 2017.

Roshni Chopra: Best known for her role as Pia in Kasamh Se, the actress took a break from her acting career to raise her two sons- Jaiveer and Reyaan. She gave birth to her first son, Jaiveer, in 2012 and embraced motherhood for the second time in 2016. She was last seen in Pyar Mein Twist in 2011.

Puja Banerjee: The actress, who is known for her roles in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and Sarvggun Sampanna, was blessed with a baby boy, Krishiv with her husband Kunal Verma in October 2020. Since then, she has taken a sabbatical from the industry. Puja was last seen in Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi - Kahani Mata Rani Ki. 

Mahhi Vij: The actress, who made her mark in the TV industry with Laagi Tujhse Lagan, is married to actor Jay Bhanushali and the couple became parents to daughter, Tara Jay Bhanushali, in 2019. She was last seen in Laal Ishq in 2018.
