My reel weddings are an experience for my real life: Megha Chakraborty

Megha Chakraborty

Bong beauty Megha Chakraborty is giving a tough competition to all the bahus on TV.

This might be her debut in Hindi GEC, but not many know that she has a good body of work in the Bengali industry. Her first Bengali movie was Action and she has also appeared in the TV show Joto Hashi Toto Ranna on Star Jalsha.

Her portrayal of a perfect daughter-in-law Reeti in &TV’s Badii Devrani also deserves a special mention as she makes her character appear apt on-screen.

Tellychakkar.com spoke to Megha about her Hindi TV show and more…

Talking about her first day on the show she shared, “I am not new to the entertainment industry. I have worked in Bengali shows, but Hindi shows are new to me. When I got this offer I was very excited at the same time nervous. I learnt that there are a lot of talented actors who are part of the show; so I was worried about doing a good job with them. It was difficult for me as I had a Bengali accent. Initially I used to mix both the languages and the dialogues came out to be very funny, but later things got better.”

So how did you manage your accent? “People on the set have been very co-operative and friendly. They have helped me with the dialogues and taught me a lot of variation. Everyone on the set has helped me to improve my Hindi, to the extent that I am now a pro in it (laughs),” said the actress.

What made you to take up this role? Megha quipped, “The most important thing was that it was a female oriented role. A story about a girl who is independent and strong who is always there to support her in-laws. The journey has been challenging and an experience to learn at the same time.”

Talking about her on-screen shaadis, she shared, “Shaadis (laugh). Yes, I got married twice in the show. This is like an experience for my real life I guess (winks).”

Have a great future, Megha!!
