My role in Doli Armaanon Ki will break my “good boy” image: Mohit Malik

Mohit Malik

Handsome and humble actor Mohit Malik, who has impressed one and all with his impeccable acting style in shows like Pratigya and Suvreen Guggal, is back on the small screen with Spellbound Productions’ Doli Armaanon Ki on Zee TV.

Looking a million bucks in a black suit at the launch of the show, the actor spoke to Tellychakkar.com about how this role is a challenging one for him.

“My character is that of Samrat Rathore who is youngest in the family but is the one who has managed to bring the family’s sinking business in control. He is a very practical man and with so much responsibility on him he has turned a workaholic. And after working so hard all day, he finds it difficult to switch off from his professional attitude when he is back home,” reveals the actor.

“I haven’t played such a role in my career and it was really a challenging job for me. Samrat has no space for relationship in his life. He will marry Urmi (Neha Marda) only for the sake of his family and will thus be a cold husband. It is the first time I feel I am acting and playing a character. I am still working on it and hope the audiences will like the change. The role of Samrat will definitely break my image of a good boy,” says a smiling Mohit.

The actor claims that his similarity streak with his character is that he too is a workaholic. He says that he is currently observing such people so that he can bring about a real kind of performance. “These kinds of people are definitely around us especially in North India. They have this set of rules of what kind of a relation a man has to have with a woman. Samrat is moody and mysterious and I am not speaking more lest I spoil the fun,” he smiles.

Mohit, who had earlier worked with Spellbound Productions, had always desired to be in a show from the very beginning and call it ‘his’ show. “I had started off as a lead but recently even with some awesome roles, I wasn’t getting a chance to play a lead. I am really excited to start with this show that would also present me in a different light.”

We asked the actor as to how was his wife Additi reacting to her un-loving partner act in the show. Avers Mohit, “She does feel strange. But then being an actor, she also understands that how important it is to break the mould. When I had got the offer, even I was apprehensive whether I would be able to pull it off or not. No young actor has ever done a role like this on TV and I am really excited.”

We at Tellychakkar.com would like to wish good luck to the whole team of Doli and specially Mohti all the luck and success!!!
