Anusha Dandekar designs lingerie line, adds fun to it
Popular TV host and video jockey (VJ) Anusha Dandekar has lent her creativity to a lingerie line, which she says is fun and expressive.
"To me, fashion is about embracing my individual style. Lingerie has always been an important part of fashion and lingerie has been a very important part of my wardrobe since the very beginning.
"With this collaboration, I really want to show that lingerie can be just as fun and expressive as clothes even if it's not always on view, and therefore it's been a dream for many many years to have my own lingerie line," Anusha said in a statement.
She is launching it in association with PrettySecrets, a brand that she feels is synonymous with her own vibe.
Anusha is bringing her body-positive ethos for young, fun, quirky design, fresh and vibrant colours. Underwear with quirky one-liners and mood-based ones are a part of the Anusha For PrettySecrets, which targets the young, fun, fashionable girls who would like to buy something from a celebrity label collection at affordable price points.
Web shows are more experimental: Purab
Actor Purab Kohli will soon be seen in the second season of web series It’s Not That Simple. He says content and costing wise, web shows are more experimental than movies but he loves doing both.
"The good thing about web series is that it is the current trend. Many people like to watch it. It keeps you engaged for a longer period of time. You follow stories, it can be more fleshed out and told extensively," Purab told leading publication.
"Web shows are more experimental in their content and costing wise. On the other hand, I love doing films. Both of them are very engaging," he added.
Directed by Danish Aslam, the second edition of Voot Original web series It's Not That Simple also features Swara Bhasker and Sumeet Vyas.
Swara plays Meera - confident, ambitious and a strong woman who becomes the mouthpiece of a modern woman who compels you to ask - Does the sex matter?
"The main pointers for me were that Meera's character is moving forward so that straight away makes for a good second season and the show is moving in a direction. The character is growing and expanding itself. I mean finding more ground to head on so that itself is exciting," said Purab.
"For me, the character Angad was very interesting. He is blatant, straightforward and at the same time very honest and he comes across as someone who you don't like in the beginning but once you see how honest and straightforward he is of what he wants and what he says, I think. It's quite refreshing to see someone like that," added the Rock On!! actor.
On the show's second season, he shared, "I think the first season dealt with breaking away and now the second season is where she (Meera) is finding new ground, she's discovering new ground and finding a new self. Finding herself out of her marriage and traditional definitions of Meera, she is now trying to find new Meera.
"That Meera wants to achieve and be loved. I think that is the aspect people should look out for and of course, the introduction of mainly two known male characters played by Sumeet and me. Both are very interesting characters."
Purab had also starred in the American science fiction drama web series Sense8.
Talking about the difference between shooting for an Indian web show and an American one, he pointed out, "Foreign productions function differently than Indian productions. The training is different. Outplay of the role is different, also the budgets are massively different so, it's not fair to even compare."

The actor adds that the show name makes people curious about the content, which is what works for the show. “The title really sounds interesting, people start thinking what is Kaal Bhairav. Everyone is confused about whether it is a thriller or a mythological show. But I can say that it is very different in itself. The audience wants to see who is Kaal Bhairav, is it a human being or a God?” she says.
Talking about her character, she says, “I am playing Rajmata. I am the eldest in the house. As I am ageing now, I have handed all the responsibilities to Maharani and given her all the authorities to make the house run on her terms. But I still enjoy that respect and that position in the house.”
Vineeta further adds that she really associates with her character. “I am the eldest one in my house; here also I am shown as the eldest one, so that thing is similar. The way I get respect at home is the same way my character gets respect in the show. I can really relate to my character as I have the responsibility of my family at home and in the show,” she says.
The actor shares a great relationship with everyone in the show. “Normally, I gel with everybody but I share my makeup room with Vandana (Kenisha Bhardwaj) so I have bonded the most with her. She is much younger than me, she must be half my age. She is really sweet. Being with these young kids on set makes me forget my age. We all joke around and really have fun with each other. As Kenisha is my roommate, she is like family with me. I feel like she is my kid and we both keep on giving advice to each other. She tells me about new things and I really like the way we bond,” she says.
