Were you folks excited about the upcoming new season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi? If yes, then here’s some bad news. Tellychakkar.com has learnt exclusively that season 2 of the successful Balaji Telefilms show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, (which was to air on Star Plus), has hit a road block and has been put on indefinite hold. Our sources also suggest that there is also a high probability of the project never seeing the light of day. Launching Kyunki without its main face, Smriti Irani, is near to impossible and of course, quite precarious. As reported by us earlier, the think tank working on the project desperately wanted her to come on board. But the process slowed down with Smriti getting into PM Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Now, with Smriti being unavailable to take ahead the Kyunki journey, which had catapulted her to success years back, everything has hit a stage of limbo, which might become a permanent state in time to come. A source states, “A second season of Kyunki cannot happen without Smriti Irani, such is the stature and popularity of the lady. Now, the creative team is stuck with her not being available. And the question of moving further with season two without her of Kyunki does not arise. Hence, the show has been put on hold.” For the uninitiated, actors like Gauri Pradhan, Hiten Tejwani, Sandeep Baswana, Shilpa Saklani, Ritu Choudhary had been locked to play central roles in the upcoming season of the popular show. This is indeed sad news for all the Kyunki fans who had hoped to re-live the charisma created by the cult show. We tried contacting Smriti, but could not reach her.
